Pool Deck Staining & Resurfacing in Metro Atlanta

Custom Pool Decks

The Deck You Already Own, Made New

A pool deck takes more abuse than any other concrete on your property. Sun, standing water, chlorine or salt, sunscreen, and twenty summers of foot traffic. Eventually it goes gray, chalky and cracked, and most people assume the only fix is to tear it out.

It usually is not. If the slab underneath is structurally sound, we resurface it instead. A textured cement overlay bonds permanently over the existing concrete, then gets stained the color you choose and sealed against the elements. No demolition, no hauling, no waiting on a fresh slab to cure through the swim season. We can stain or create pool decks and surrounding outdoor areas with textures and stains replicating stone, slate, tile, marble, leather, or another look you have in mind, and we handle concrete repair, sealing and pool deck painting as part of the same visit.

As one happy client put it: "I love my pool deck!! I never imagined dirty, cracked concrete after transformation could look so amazing."

What Pool Deck Resurfacing Costs in Metro Atlanta

Every deck and every design is different, so we quote each project in person rather than by blanket rate. What we can tell you up front: resurfacing an existing pool deck costs a fraction of tearing it out and replacing it, and it does not put your pool out of commission for a season.

What moves the price:

  • Slab condition: cracks, spalling, or previous paint and failed coatings all add prep time.
  • Total area: the deck itself plus any spa surround, steps, or connecting walkway.
  • Texture and color: a single-tone seal is quicker than a hand-scored, multi-tone finish.
  • Access: a fenced backyard deck with a narrow gate takes longer to stage than an open one.

Where We Work

Pool Deck Resurfacing Across Metro Atlanta

We resurface and stain pool decks throughout Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding counties and across the north metro. Most of our pool work sits inKennesaw,Marietta,Acworth,Woodstock,Canton andSmyrna, and we also serve Atlanta, Powder Springs, Dallas and Hiram.

Backyard pools in this part of Georgia have a lot in common: a slab poured somewhere between the 1990s and the mid-2000s, a decade or two of sun on it, and a homeowner who has been quoted a tear-out price they do not want to pay. That is the job we do best.

Common Questions

Pool Deck FAQs

How much does it cost to resurface a pool deck in Atlanta?

Every deck is different, so we quote each one individually after seeing it. What moves the price most is the condition of the existing concrete, how much crack repair and prep it needs, the total square footage around the pool and any spa or walkway, and how detailed the finish is. What we can tell you up front is that resurfacing costs a fraction of tearing out a pool deck and replacing it. You get a firm number in writing before any work is scheduled, and the estimate is free.

Will a resurfaced pool deck be slippery when wet?

The opposite, usually. A worn, slick pool deck gets safer after resurfacing, because the textured overlay we apply has more grip than the smooth, weathered concrete underneath it. Texture is something we choose deliberately with you, since a pool surround needs more traction than an interior floor.

Does a stained pool deck get hot to walk on?

Color is the main factor, and it is one you control. Lighter tans, sandstone and gray tones stay noticeably cooler underfoot than dark browns or charcoals. James will walk you through the tradeoff when you pick colors, because on a south-facing deck in a Georgia July it matters more than people expect.

Can you resurface a pool deck that is cracked or has been painted before?

Yes, and that is most of the decks we are called out to see. We repair the cracks, grind off old paint and failed coatings so the new layer bonds to sound concrete, then apply the overlay, stain and seal. Prep is genuinely most of the job. If a deck is too far gone to save we will tell you that up front rather than take the work.

How long does a pool deck project take?

Most residential pool decks are a several-day job depending on size, how much repair the slab needs, and cure time between coats. Weather matters more on a pool deck than on an interior floor, so we build a little margin into the schedule rather than rush a seal coat ahead of rain.

Do you work around salt water and chlorine pools?

Both. The sealer is what stands between your finish and the pool chemistry, so we use products chosen for wet, chemically exposed surfaces rather than a general-purpose sealer. Refreshing that sealer every few years is a quick, inexpensive service and it is what keeps the deck looking new.
