Concrete Overlays & Micro-Toppings in Metro Atlanta
The Look of Stone, Slate, or Tile — On the Concrete You Already Own
An overlay is how plain gray concrete becomes something you show off. We apply a thin, polymer-modified cement layer over your existing surface, then texture, stamp, score, and stain it to replicate stone, slate, tile, marble, leather — or a design that's entirely your own. James, a skilled artist with 20+ years in decorative concrete, designs every finish personally.
Overlays work indoors and out: patios, pool decks, driveways, walkways, basements, and main-floor living spaces. For interior floors that need a perfectly smooth canvas, our micro-toppings create a fresh surface just millimeters thick, ready for custom stain.

Why Homeowners Choose Overlays
No Tear-Out Required
Your existing slab stays put. The overlay bonds permanently on top, skipping demolition, hauling, and the cost of a new pour.
Any Texture, Any Pattern
Flagstone, slate, wood plank, tile, or hand-scored custom designs — if you can picture it, James can build it in cement.

Concrete Overlay FAQs
What is a concrete overlay?
A concrete overlay is a thin layer of polymer-modified cement applied over your existing slab. Once it bonds, it becomes the new surface — one that can be textured, stamped, scored, and stained to look like stone, slate, tile, marble, or leather. Micro-toppings are the thinnest version, perfect for interior floors that need a flawless finish.
Concrete overlay vs. stamped concrete — what's the difference?
Traditional stamped concrete is patterned into freshly poured concrete, so it requires a new slab. A stamped overlay gives you the same look on the concrete you already own: we apply the overlay over your existing surface and stamp the pattern into it. Same beauty, no demolition, and usually a much lower cost. If you're comparing the two, an overlay is almost always the smarter path when your existing slab is sound.
What is textured concrete?
Textured concrete is any surface finished with a pattern or relief rather than left smooth — think flagstone, slate, wood plank, or tile looks. We create it with overlays: the fresh cement layer is textured or stamped while workable, then stained and sealed. It adds slip resistance outdoors and hides imperfections beautifully.
Will an overlay crack or peel off?
Not when the prep is done right — and prep is most of the job. We repair the existing slab, grind and clean it so the polymer-modified cement bonds permanently, and seal the finished surface. Done properly, an overlay wears like the concrete underneath it. We've been installing them across metro Atlanta for over 20 years.
