Decorative Concrete in Atlanta
A Custom Finish on the Concrete You Already Own
Decorative concrete is how you get a patio, driveway, pool deck, or basement floor that looks custom without tearing out the slab you already have. JP Concrete Creations has been doing exactly that across metro Atlanta for 20+ years: westain, resurface, and overlay existing concrete. No demolition, no dumpsters, and no waiting weeks on a fresh slab to cure.
James does the work himself. Laura answers the phone. That is the whole company, and it is why the same two people who quote your project are the ones who finish it. Homeowners have given us a 4.8-star rating across 69 Google reviews.

What Decorative Concrete Actually Means
Most people find us searching for one specific thing: a stained basement floor, a patio that has gone gray and chalky, a driveway with surface damage. Decorative concrete is the umbrella over all of it, and for us it splits into three kinds of work.
Concrete Staining
Color driven into the surface of the slab so it becomes part of the concrete rather than a coating sitting on top. It is our most requested service, indoors and out: interior floors, basements, and patios.
Resurfacing & Overlays
A thin, tough layer of new concrete bonded over your existing surface, then finished the way you want it. This is the answer when a slab is structurally fine but the surface is worn, stained, or dated.
Stamped Flagstone Overlays
The same overlay process, textured into a random flagstone pattern while it cures. It is the one stamp pattern we offer, and James details every joint by hand.
Interior work is its own category and our strongest season from midsummer through December. If your project is below grade, start with our stained basement floors page, which covers moisture, prep, and finish options specific to Georgia basements.
Why Restore Instead of Replace
Tear-out is loud, slow, and expensive: demolition, haul-away, a fresh slab, then weeks before you can use the space again. For most homeowners the concrete underneath was never the problem. The surface was.
That is a distinction worth getting right before you collect quotes, because it usually decides whether your project takes three days or three weeks.

Instead of replacing, Laura suggested I consider pressure washing and sealing the existing natural flagstone to restore its natural beauty. Within a week, Jim had completed the project, and I could not be happier with the result! For a very modest cost, my patio looks like new."

That is a project we talked a customer out of. It happens often. At your free estimate we look at the actual slab and tell you plainly what it needs, including when the honest answer is that decorative work is not the right call.

Color Is Mixed on Site, Not Picked From a Chip
The difference between decorative concrete that looks manufactured and decorative concrete that looks like stone is almost entirely in the color work. Stain is layered rather than painted: a base tone, then accent tones worked into the texture by hand, then a durable sealer that locks the whole thing in.
That is the part that cannot be systematized, and it is why James is on every project from first cut to final coat rather than handing it to a rotating crew.
"I observed his artful skill at adding additional colors and blending them just right to coordinate with the stone in the fireplace and the siding color of our home."

What Decorative Concrete Costs in Metro Atlanta
Decorative concrete in metro Atlanta generally runs well below the cost of tear-out and replacement, because you are paying for surface work rather than demolition, disposal, and a fresh slab. The real number depends on the condition of the concrete, the square footage, the finish, and how many colors are involved.
What moves the price:
- Surface condition: cracks, old coatings, and spalling add prep and repair time.
- Square footage: larger areas cost less per foot.
- Finish: a straightforward stain and seal is not the same job as a hand-detailed flagstone overlay.
- Color layers: more accent tones and custom borders add time and artistry.

Decorative Concrete FAQs
Can decorative concrete go over my existing patio or floor?
Usually, yes. That is the core of what we do. The slab needs to be structurally sound, meaning no active movement and no problems that a surface treatment cannot fix. We check that in person at the free estimate and tell you straight if it will not work.
How long does the work take?
Most residential projects are one to three days on site, depending on square footage and finish. Sealer needs curing time before heavy use, and we walk you through the schedule before we start so you know when you get the space back.
Does stained or resurfaced concrete hold up outdoors in Georgia?
Yes, when it is prepped and sealed properly. Prep is most of the job: grinding, cleaning, and repairing the existing surface before anything decorative happens. The sealer gets refreshed every few years, which is a quick service compared with redoing a surface.
Do you pour new concrete?
No. We work on existing concrete only: staining, resurfacing, and overlays. If your project needs a brand-new slab, we will tell you that at the estimate rather than sell you something we do not do.
What kind of stamping do you offer?
A random flagstone look. It is the one pattern we do, hand-detailed, and it is what we have gotten good at over two decades of decorative concrete work in metro Atlanta.
How do I get a quote?
Call 770-590-8955 or send the form on our contact page. Laura answers, and we schedule a free on-site estimate. A 30% deposit holds your spot on the calendar once you approve the quote.
